The Health Center patient portal supports the following Multi-Factor authenticatino methods:

SMS based One-Time Password

When the user authenticates using a username / password combination, a short one-time password (OTP) is sent to the user’s pre-registered phone number. The user must enter the received OTP into the login form in order to be able to gain access to their Health Center account.

e-Mail based One-Time Password

Similar to the SMS based OTP, the user receives a short OTP on their registered e-mail address. The OTP has to be entered in the login form in order to be able to gain access to the user’s account.

Activation

The Multi-Factor authentication method can be activated by each user from their My Profile page. The user chooses one authentication method (None, Email or SMS) and then selects the e-mail address or phone number as needed. The user is then guided through a validation procedure where he will ahve to enter an OTP in order to prove ownership of the device. Upon succesful validation, the MFA is enabled in the user’s account.
